Our Purpose
The Association of Institutional Real Estate Investors (“AIREI” or “Association”) was established to provide educational opportunities and facilitate discussions amongst the leaders of the institutional real estate investment industry. The objectives of this program are:
- Promoting discussion amongst peers about real time business topics that affect the investment management industry;
- Educating attendees on market conditions and investment opportunities globally;
- Providing a forum for networking and relationship building.
These objectives are accomplished through regular “roundtable” style meetings that are capped at approximately 30 participants, a key differentiator relative to other industry events that range from 80-1,200 people and are panel focused rather than discussion oriented.
The Association Board has established the Real Estate Round Table Committees (each, the “Committee”) to help carefully screen the participants in order to ensure that a diversity of firms and perspectives are represented, as well as to execute all elements of recruiting and planning. All investment manager members are required to participate on at least one of the Committees.
Attendees at Roundtable events are expected to be comprised of senior professionals and “thought leaders” from the private equity real estate industry. This will include investment managers, pension plan staff and board members, pension consultants and other institutional investors and their representatives. Only one member per organization may attend each Roundtable event unless an exception is recommended by the Committee and approved by the Board.
